Taking on an Apprentice

April is always a busy time here at Selby Carpets as many schools look to refurbish their classrooms, corridors, entrance halls and dining areas. From hard-wearing vinyl safety flooring to entrance hall flooring with striking graphics, our expertise is in great demand around the Easter break.

Education and training have definitely been at the forefront of my mind over the last few weeks because as demand increases we’re now looking to the future and the next generation of fitters for Selby Carpets. So I’m pleased to announce we have taken on our first apprentice!

Floortrain, a training provider has helped us in our search, and we donate carpet to their training centre in London so their apprentices can practice the fine art of fitting. Taking on an apprentice, training them up and integrating them into Selby Carpets’ will be good for our business, create loyalty and help to build a fitting team for the future.

This future-view is vital as the economy picks up again and we certainly see signs of recovery across the capital.
