Selby Contract Flooring

Creatures of the Night

July 3, 2014

Well, it seems the long summer days are finally here, and as I write this blog, the sun is shining, and the weather is beautiful. But it’s not the sun that we at Selby Carpets are enjoying – oh no, we much prefer those summer nights! That’s when so much of our work takes place, getting the job done without disruption.

We have enjoyed many jobs this past month - we’ve even been at work in Colchester - and one exciting installation has been in the new extension at the National Theatre. Here the hard wearing Nora Looselay rubber tiles have been laid quickly and efficiently. In fact, it seems to have been a month of rubber - we have installed over 400m2 of Dalsouple and Nora rubber across London.

Usually, when you step into a hair salon, you can be sure to come out with a bit of a makeover. But it was a makeover of a different kind at a large hair salon in London Bridge when we worked through the night laying Karndean Loose tiles. When staff and customers arrived the following morning, they were amazed at the transformation.

It’s now a busy time of year for schools and colleges as many begin to organise summer renovation works. A bright and inspiring environment is particularly important in these establishments and one school to have updated its décor is Hollickwood Primary which had us install a striking logo in its entrance hall. It certainly adds a welcoming touch to staff, children and visitors arrive through the doors.

We have installed plenty of new carpets too - to a new build in Rayners Lane (house builders love our price and service) and in the Lesley Ceaze Gallery who tweeted our fitters fitting their new carpet. So as you all enjoy those (hopefully) long, hot days, don’t forget about those of us busy through not just the days and the weekends, but those long summer nights too as we make sure we don’t disrupt our clients through regular office hours!
